Introduction

Ship Construction is a complex subject which is primarily concerned with the design and fabrication/building of marine and other floating vessels. The ship buildig normally takes place in a specialised location known as Shipyard or Ship Buildig Centres.

Shipbuilding is the construction of ships and other floating vessels. It normally takes place in a specialized facility known as a shipyard. Shipbuilders, also called shipwrights, follow a specialized occupation that traces its roots to before recorded history. The dismantling of ships is called ship breaking.
